The dramatic incident left its entire body coated in bright orange curry.
Known as ‘Gullfrazie’ on the beloved social network Facebook, this seagull has made the headlines in a highly fascinating manner. The bird plunged headfirst into a pool of deliciously spicy Indian curry dish known as Chicken Tikka Masala while scavenging for food at a food factory bin! A group of workers who were in the vicinity immediately rescued the curry-covered bird, before they sent it to Vale wildlife hospital in the United Kingdom to be treated.

After repeated attempts, staff members at the hospital eventually succeeded in washing away the distinct curry colour, but it was the smell that they couldn’t quite get off so easily.  As veterinarian Lucy Kells explained, “He really surprised everyone here – we had never seen anything like it before. He had fallen into a waste vat of curry that was outside, it was chicken tikka masala. The thing that shocked us the most was the smell. He smelled amazing, he really smelled good. I’ve been a veterinary nurse for 25 years and I have never seen this happen before.”

Based on the colors of his feathers (the original one of course), Gullfrazie is predicted to be just 2 years of age. At this point in time. treatments are in store to ‘re-waterproof his feathers’. Thereafter, he is free to return to his habitat and be a part of more wild adventures!
